Ningxia Red Jellies

I love Ningxia Red like no other drink in the world! It's the highest antioxidant drink on the market. The amount of antioxidant power in just one ounce of Ningxia Red would be equivalant to eating over 800 blueberries!! That's insane! You can imagine the energy you would feel after taking in that amount of antioxidants. Seriously Amazing.

I gave Ninxia Red to my mother for her energy levels. She had such low energy it was hard for her to move around very much. She drinks Ningxia Red everyday, sometimes twice a day, now she has enough energy to walk the mall 3x! It's changed her life.

We also give Ningxia Red to our kids. My 7-year old daughter can get tired very easily. Even a trip to the park would make her exhausted. Then her emotions would drop with her energy, sending her into cranky pants mode. Not fun for anyone. Ningxia Red has helped her so much with her energy that she can last a lot longer now. Not saying she doesn't still get cranky, who doesn't every once in a while. But, now I know it's because of something else, and not her low energy. Game changer in our house.

Young Living has a great recipe to make jellies that make it easy to give to kids on a daily basis. Find the recipe details here

  • 3 Tbsp Shea Butter
  • 2 Tbsp Coconut Oil
  • 6 Tbsp Arrowroot Powder
  • 1 Tbsp Baking Soda

Homemade Dishwasher Tabs

Desperate times, call for desperate measures. When you run out of dishwasher soap and it's well passed store closing times, you whip out your homemade ingredients and bust out dishwasher tabs so you can run the dishwasher. Yup, that's how I roll, mostly out of desperation. Well, especialy since I tend to run a tight budget and I only purchase the exact amount we will need at the time and no more. Haha, and then I constantly run out of stuff, hmmm...wonder why. :P

Thankfully, this time I had all the ingredients from making laundry detergent a month ago and thought they might have similar ingredients. Yay, I was right, almost all the same ingredients and way easy to make. I'm all about easy, and homemade (do those contradict each other?). HAHA.

I also love this recipe because it has Thieves cleaner and lemon essential oil in it. If you don't know Thieves, you need to. It's the best cleaning, all natural solution on THE PLANET! Yup, I said it. Love, Love, Love it.

So, here is the recipe I used, it totally worked and I feel so domesticated now. If you need to find where to buy the ingredients, check out my amazon store.

  •  1 cup of Borax
  • 1 cup of Washing Soda
  • 1/2 cap full of Thieves Cleaner
  • 10 drops of Lemon essential oil
  • Almost 1 cup of Vinegar

In a large glass bowl, mix the Borax and Washing Soda together. In a glass measuring cup add Thieves Cleaner and Lemon essential oil. Fill the remainder with vinegar until you have 1 cup of liquid. Add the liquid mixture into the dry mix and whisk together… it will foam a little. Pour into ice cube trays and let them sit out for about two hours. I put them in the fridge until they firmed up. Store in air tight mason jars.

Do not overfill your ice cube trays so they will easily fit in your dishwasher soap tray. Add vinegar to your rinse cycle.

Detox Bath Soaks

Detox bath soaks are my new fav. If you've never done one, you need to, like asap. Epsom salt is actually not salt but magnesium sulfate.  Which research suggests might be the single most important nutrient for human health, and chances are you're not getting enough. Detox bath soaks are a great way to absorb magnesium. Add essential oils to the mix and you have a recipe for relaxation, reducing occasional head and muscle tension, increasing concentration, helping itchy skin, and promoting a healthy immune system by flushing out toxins.

How Much To Use:
Use 1/2 cup of Epsom salt per 50lbs. of your body weight.  I use 1.5 cups Epsom Salt. Then try adding 3-4 drops essential oil for children and up to 10 drops of essential oil for adults. Start with fewer drops and work your way up. Optional: adding Baking Soda helps neutralize the water, add 1 cup Baking soda to your bath.

Add your favorite essential oils to your Epsom salt and shake together in a mason jar. Pour into hot bath and soak for 20-30 minutes. Add a cute label and give as a gift to friends, teachers and coworkers.

Immune Support: 5 drops Thieves + 3 drops Frank

Mood Booster: 4 drops Frank + 2 drops Joy + 2 drops Valor

Peppermint Brownies! Yum!

Ooh La La! Who knew that peppermint brownies would be so good. I'm a huge brownie fan, so I was pretty doubtful that anything could make them better, other than more chocolate or caramel. Just one drop of peppermint essential oil and these taste so heavenly.

Did you know Peppermint essential oil is one of the oldest and most highly regarded herbs for supporting normal digestion, including promoting healthy intestinal function and gastrointestinal system comfort?

This recipe has no artificial flavors, colors, or synthetic fillers, this is all natural, and super yummy.  I used the dark chocolate chips from Sprouts with 68% Cacoa and it made a huge difference in taste. I received rave reviews from my party.

1/2 cup minus 1 Tbs. coconut flour ( coconut flour)
1/2 cup dark chocolate chips (Enjoy Life chips)
1/2 cup plus 2 Tbs. butter, melted
3 eggs, at room temperature
1 tsp. vanilla extract, optional

Preheat oven to 300 degrees. Grease a glass baking dish (8x8 or 9x9).
Mix together all ingredients. Pour into the baking dish and bake for 30-35 minutes, until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Cool for 30 minutes before cutting or removing from the pan. These store well at room temperature or in the fridge for a few days. Make sure you keep them in an airtight container.

Healthy Teeth for Adults and Kids

My kids have, unfortunately, inherited my bad teeth. I've had cavities since my first dentist visit and it's only gotten worse since. So dental care is extremely important to me and leaving out any potential toxins, like flouride, is also important.

My first discovery was adding a drop of Thieves to my toothpaste. It's a little spicy but it packs a punch and my teeth are no longer sensitive, which is awesome. I knew my kids could not handle the Thieves essential oil in their toothpaste, so I bought the Kid Scents Toothpaste by Young Living. I love that Young Living has applied their famous Thieves blend of essential oils into a non-flouride toothpaste. The kids love it and this bottle has lasted us a long time, with 3 kids using it.

Young Living also makes two kinds of adult toothpaste that we use as well. I use the adult toothpaste along with some old fashioned oil-pulling to promote a healthy mouth. Love, love, love Young Living toothpaste.

To further promote healthy bones and teeth, there are a few supplements that Young Living offers. Omegagize, Mineral Essence, Super Cal and some Ningxia Red are some great options.

Homemade Sports Electrolyte Drink

I found this amazing recipe over at She goes into much more detail as to what makes up the components of a true electrolyte drink and why it is so good for when you are dehydrated. Add in some essential oils and this is a power house drink.

Another powerhouse for energy when you are an athlete is Young Living's Ningxia Red super anti-oxidant drink or Ningxia Nitro. Both of those are super full of wonderful ingredients that support the body and promote energy.

Homemade Strawberry Lemonade Electrolyte Drink

  • 1/2 cup fresh or frozen organic strawberries
  • 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 4 drops lemon essential oil
  • 2 cups of water (filtered or purified) or coconut water
  • 2 tbsp organic raw honey or organic maple syrup
  • 1/8 tsp Himalayan Pink Salt or Celtic Sea Salt

Soothing All-natural Tea

Thieves essential oil blend is famous for it's germ fighting ability and maintaining a healthy immune system. If you haven't heard of Thieves blend I will briefly explain, it's AWESOME! You can even google some cool experiments people have done with it. This oil blend has supported my whole family's immune system over the last year and now that winter is among us, I can see the difference it has made in our health.

I LOVE this recipe with Thieves and Lemon, it's so perfect for the winter season. Plus, it's super easy to make! When you even get a hint of feeling crummy, no matter what it is, make this tea and you will be thankful. It's a little on the spicy side, so I sweeten it to help balance. Make sure you only get one drop or it will be super spicy. That's when you split it into two cups and dilute the remainder. Enjoy!

Thieves Tea

  • Hot water
  • 1 drop Thieves essential oil blend
  • 2 drops lemon essential oil
  • Sweetener of choice.  I use raw honey (I buy mine here)

Heat water until just before boiling. Add your sweetener and oils to a mug. Add hot water and stir. Feel free to make this your own and customize to your liking.

Best Homemade Skin Cream!!!

If this skin cream was on the market, it would be one of the most expensive skin creams available. There's nothing synthetic or chemical in it and Frankincense is known for its super skin promoting skills (yes, those are real skills). If you don't know all the amazing benefits of Frankincense, just google it, you will be amazed. Add a little Lavender for extra skin support, equals fantastic!

Did you know that a ton of popular skin moisturizers actually cause cancer? Ugh, I know. We need to be extra careful with ANYTHING we put on our skin. Read labels, use the "Think Dirty" app to see just how toxic your over the counter skin creams and lotions are. I have been loving the skin care products from Young Living. They make amazing ointments, eye creams and body lotions that you can purchase at wholesale.

If you love to make homemade products, this one is super easy and super luxurious. I absolutely love this skin cream because I know every single ingredient in it and it actually promotes healthy skin firming and smoothing. All ingredients that will not harm your body and actually promote healthy appearing skin. Try it out!!

Homemade Skin Smoothing Cream

Use a double boiler, or do like I did and make one using two pots, one inside the other with water in the bottom. Melt the shea butter and coconut oil together. Remove from heat and let cool for about 30 minutes. Once cool, add Frankincense and Lavender essential oils and stir. Wait until it's partially solid (refrigerate if necessary) then whip with a hand mixer until you achieve a butter-like consistency (few minutes). Store in a 4 oz glass jar (I got mine for $1 at Target). This should keep for 6-12 months.

Optional: If you don’t have shea butter, I’ve seen some other recipes that use Cocoa Butter

Love Lavender!!

What doesn't this stuff do? Now, I know why it's called the "Swiss Army Knife" of essential oils. It's got a million uses, I can't even believe it. My husband loves it to maintain easy breathing through out the day. I love it to support healthy skin. I also use it on my kids to promote a restful night by adding it to their epsom salt bath before bed or to their diffuser. Love, love, love Lavender.

6 Ways To Relieve Stress!

I use these 3 little bottles AHH-LOT! ALOT! A-LOT! If you're a mommy like me, you can relate, right? Even if you're not a mommy, life can be so stressful. From work, to traffic, to managing a business, struggling with finances, trying to stay healthy and even dealing with relationships can be so stressful.

Studies show that stress can greatly affect your health for the worse. If you're not finding ways to destress, you need to start PRONTO! A few years ago I experienced episodes of anxiety attacks. I didn't feel like I was really stressed, so I took numerous steps to relieve stress from exterior things as well as internal. Here are some great steps to schedule into your day to help you destress:

1: GET SLEEP: I know a few people who can do fine with very little sleep, but for the majority of us, this is HUGE! Sleep can make or break the rest of our day if we don't get enough of it. Set a bedtime routine to wind you down at night. Decide what time you will go to sleep and work backward. Set an alarm if you need a reminder. If you're on the computer at night, like I am, download the app that starts to dim your screen to ease your eyes before bed.

Essential oils are awesome to support healthy sleep. You can add them to some epsom salts in a night time bath before bed. Turn on the diffuser in your room and add some essential oils that promote a restful sleep. Some that we like are Valor, Lavender, Stress Away and Peace and Calming. Works great for kids too.

2: EXERCISE: This is pretty obvious, but it is not just for weight loss. Exercise detoxes your body of harmful toxins and relieves stress!! You don't have to do major exercise everyday, just incorporate some movement, something, anything! Take a quick walk, park farther away from your destination. Do some squats while you're waiting for something to cook in the kitchen. Do some punches any time you pass the mirror. Make it a habit of something you always do instead of being so still.

Want to promote healthy muscular system before, during and after exercise? Use PanAway, peppermint, Deep Relief and Copaiba on those muscles after a tough workout. Make a spray bottle with peppermint to cool the body while exercising.

3. LIMIT THE STRESSFUL SHOWS: This one is personal to each person, so do what's best for you. For me, I found that I was having serious anxiety after watching certain documentaries, stress-filled movies and even the news was too stressful to watch. I had to just stick with light-hearted movies. Seems so limiting, but there's so many cool things to watch out there that I don't miss it. A lot of times my husband and I will end up on YouTube watching our favorites, While They Were Napping (my good friend Heidi), Blimey Cow and Say Good Night Kevin

4: GET OUTDOORS: This definitely can go hand-in-hand with exercise. People who actually get outside and get in the sun (you know good ol' Vitamin D) are healthier overall. This might be a great opportunity to meet some neighbors, discover some nature paths in your area, rekindle the kid in you and marvel at nature.

5: READ A BOOK! And I don't mean on the kindle or on the computer. The light beaming from your screen actually creates stress on your eyes and can inhibit sleep, especially if right before bed. Get out an old-fashioned book and read. Plus, it's a great alternative to a digital device right before bed.

6. OILS, OILS, OILS!: Part of my morning routine and through out the day is to put a drop of Joy over my heart and a few drops of Stress Away on my wrists and behind my ears. These are so relaxing and uplifting that I literally look back on my day and say to myself "wow, I was in such a more relaxed mood today." Then there's the amazing Frankincense. I make an amazing skin cream that not only is super good for smoothing and rejuvenating cells in the skin, but it is also relaxing and calming.
