The Outdoor Spray Every Mom Needs

Outdoor camping bug sprays made with essential oils

Summertime is upon us, so is the great outdoors, AND so are the outdoor annoyances, ugh! We want to go camping and swimming and laking (is that a word?) this summer, without the worry of the unwanted flying things all over our skin.

Some people are naturally prone to attract bugs, and sadly, I am one of those people. And like all wonderful things we pass on to our kids, my kids are also prone. Thankfully, I've learned a few tricks, that help deter those bugs from wanting to land on our skin.

Even with most store-bought bug sprays removing the harmful ingredient DEET, from their products. There are still ingredients, like whatever ingredients hide in the "FRAGRANCE," that are toxic to our skin. Download the "Think Dirty" App and scan your products to see how they rank on the dirty scale. See one example below.

Natural Body Deterrent

Applying certain essential oils to the bottom of your feet everyday has been shown to alter the scent your body gives off so that bugs are no longer attracted to you. Why the bottom of your feet? The bottom of your feet are a pathway to the rest of your body. Covering your feet will send the oils to all the parts of your body. It's a great place to apply oils, especially on kids or people with sensitive skin.

Young Living's Purification blend contains: Citronella, Lavandin, Lemongrass, Rosemary, Myrtle, and Tea Tree. It is fantastic for all things ODOR related. Hello stale laundry and stinky husband shoes.

Directions:

Apply 1 drop of Young Living Purification to the bottom of each foot, each day for 2-3 weeks before going outdoors.
