Hair Growth & Detangler Spray Recipe

Hair Growth, Head Lice and Detangler Spray

Getting kids ready in the morning is crazy. Somehow, there’s always a shoe we can never find, my 4-year old refuses to get dressed, and my teenager son is wearing the same shirt and pants he’s worn all week (I’m so sorry to his future wife, I honestly tried).

The one thing I can count on to not disappoint in the mornings, is my detangler spray with oils. Well first, it smells amazing! It’s probably one of the only thing in the kids’ bathroom that smells good, let’s be real. I have peace of mind knowing that I’m keeping the toxic products off of their skin. Have you seen the Think Dirty App? Those detangler sprays are giving them allergies, disrupting their growing hormones and doing who-knows-what-else.

Beware whenever you see the ingredient “Fragrance.”

The word "fragrance" or "parfum" on the product label represents an undisclosed mixture of various scent chemicals and ingredients used as fragrance dispersants such as diethyl phthalate. Fragrance mixes have been associated with allergies, dermatitis, respiratory distress and potential effects on the reproductive system.

If you have kids in public school, this recipe will also put off a smell that deters any bugs from wanting to jump in and get comfy. So make this for all your friends at school!

As if that wasn’t reason enough to make this spray, all that Lavender and Cedarwood is also calming. What mom could use a little calm spray over her kids in the morning? Um, yes, please!

Hair Growth & Detangler Spray Recipe:

  • 1 16 oz. glass water bottle

  • 30 drops of Lavender Essential Oil (Make sure you get high quality oils)

  • 30 drops of Rosemary Essential Oil

  • 30 drops of Cedarwood Essential Oil

  • 1 Tbsp Witch Hazel

  • 16 oz. distilled water

  1. Add drops of essential oil to glass spray bottle.

  2. Using a funnel (found mine at the dollar store) pour in water and Witch Hazel.

  3. Swirl together.

  4. Spray on scalp every morning before school.

  5. Add a cute label with the ingredients printed on the label.

If you want to add an extra boost of bug deterrent to your spray.

• Add 20 drops Tea Tree essential oils.

Make sure you get high quality oils, grocery store oils won’t give you the same effect and you might be getting harmful synthetics in cheaply made oils.
